14 À̸£½ÃµÇ ³»°¡ ¹Ýµå½Ã ³Ê¿¡°Ô º¹ ÁÖ°í º¹ ÁÖ¸ç ³Ê¸¦ ¹ø¼ºÇÏ°Ô ÇÏ°í ¹ø¼ºÇÏ°Ô Çϸ®¶ó Çϼ̴õ´Ï saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants."
15 ±×°¡ ÀÌ°°ÀÌ ¿À·¡ Âü¾Æ ¾à¼ÓÀ» ¹Þ¾Ò´À´Ï¶ó And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.
16 »ç¶÷µéÀº Àڱ⺸´Ù ´õ Å« ÀÚ¸¦ °¡¸®ÄÑ ¸Í¼¼Çϳª´Ï ¸Í¼¼´Â ±×µéÀÌ ´ÙÅõ´Â ¸ðµç ÀÏÀÇ ÃÖÈÄ È®Á¤À̴϶ó Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.
17 Çϳª´ÔÀº ¾à¼ÓÀ» ±â¾÷À¸·Î ¹Þ´Â Àڵ鿡°Ô ±× ¶æÀÌ º¯ÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÔÀ» ÃæºÐÈ÷ ³ªÅ¸³»½Ã·Á°í ±× ÀÏÀ» ¸Í¼¼·Î º¸ÁõÇϼ̳ª´Ï Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.
18 ÀÌ´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÌ °ÅÁþ¸»À» ÇÏ½Ç ¼ö ¾ø´Â ÀÌ µÎ °¡Áö º¯ÇÏÁö ¸øÇÒ »ç½Ç·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ ¾Õ¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ¼Ò¸ÁÀ» ¾òÀ¸·Á°í Çdzó¸¦ ãÀº ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô Å« ¾ÈÀ§¸¦ ¹Þ°Ô ÇÏ·Á ÇϽÉÀ̶ó God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.
